INTRODUCTION

Primary Teachers

A number of lesson plans and student worksheets have been created to help teachers get the most from Scoilnet Maps and in particular the OSi Maps and tools available through the site.

The lessons have been devised by Primary teachers
fully aware of the expectations for students under
the SESE and Maths curriculums.

GOOD PRACTICE VIDEO

Primary teacher, Mark Boggins, from Holy Family NS in Rathcoole uses Scoilnet Maps and other tools in an SESE lesson.

The Scoilnet Maps activity is one of five different station activities, some paper-based, some ICT-based, which all support the development of mapping concepts and geographical investigation skills. The lesson integrates numeracy as well as other curricular areas. This video shows a slightly older interface on the map viewer – but most of the tools and features on the new map viewer are very similar.
